AC Disc Suspension Porcelain Insulator (Normal Type)

Standard profile (XP Series) porcelain insulators designed for high-voltage transmission lines in clean and light pollution areas. Meets IEC standards with mechanical failing loads ranging from 40kN to 530kN.

Mechanical Load 40kN - 530kN
Standard IEC 60305 / 60383
Profile Type Normal Type
Application Clean / Light Pollution
Proven Performance in Clean Areas | Ball & Socket Coupling

Ideal for Standard Environments

The Normal Type disc suspension insulator is the workhorse of high-voltage transmission lines in areas with low pollution levels. Unlike the Anti-Pollution type, it features a standard shed profile that balances mechanical strength, electrical performance, and cost-effectiveness.

Wide Range of Mechanical Classes

Vuulcan offers a comprehensive range from 40kN (U40B) for distribution lines up to 530kN (U530B) for UHV transmission lines.

  • Standard Type: Optimized for typical overhead line requirements.
  • Large Creepage Option: Some models offer extended creepage distance for enhanced safety margins.
  • Reliability: Manufactured using high-strength aluminous porcelain (C-130) for long-term durability.

*Selected popular models shown. Full XP-40 to XP-530 range available.

FAQ: Normal Type Suspension Insulators

Where should "Normal Type" insulators be used?
They are best suited for "Clean Areas" and "Light Pollution Areas". For heavy pollution (coastal/industrial), we recommend our Anti-Pollution / Fog Type insulators.
What standards do these meet?
They are fully compliant with IEC 60305 (Dimensions) and IEC 60383 (Tests) standards for ceramic insulators.
What is the highest voltage class available?
The XP series goes up to 530kN mechanical strength (U530B), making them suitable for Ultra High Voltage (UHV) transmission lines when used in strings.
