Anti-Pollution Disc Suspension Insulator (Double & Tri-Shed)

Engineered for high-voltage transmission lines in heavy pollution areas. Featuring an open aerodynamic profile (Double-Shed or Tri-Shed) that prevents bridging and enhances self-cleaning properties. Ideal for droughty, rainless, and windy environments.

Mechanical Load 70kN - 300kN
Standard IEC 60305
Profile Type Double & Tri-Shed
Coupling Ball & Socket (16-24)
High Pollution Resistance (Level IV) | Aerodynamic Self-Cleaning

Designed for Harsh Environments

In light or heavy pollution areas, standard insulators often fail due to contaminant buildup. Our Anti-Pollution Type Disc Insulators utilizes a specialized open profile (Double-Shed or Tri-Shed) that:

  • Increases Creepage Distance: Significantly longer leakage path compared to standard discs.
  • Prevents Bridging: The large spacing between sheds prevents arcs from bridging gaps during wet conditions.
  • Aerodynamic Self-Cleaning: The open structure allows wind to naturally clean dust and sand deposits, making it specially suitable for droughty and windy areas.

Double-Shed vs. Tri-Shed

We offer both configurations based on pollution severity. Tri-shed (XSP series) offers the highest creepage distance per unit height, while Double-shed (XWP series) provides a balanced solution for moderate to heavy pollution with excellent washing characteristics.

FAQ: Anti-Pollution Suspension Insulators

When should I use Double-Shed vs Tri-Shed?
Tri-shed insulators (XSP models) are used when maximum creepage distance is required within a limited string length. Double-shed insulators (XWP models) offer a balance of high creepage and better self-cleaning properties for sandy/windy environments.
Are these compatible with standard ball & socket fittings?
Yes, they use standard IEC ball and socket couplings (Size 16, 20, 24). They are mechanically interchangeable with standard disc insulators of the same class.
What represents the "Open Structure" design?
The open structure means the sheds are aerodynamic and not deep-ribbed. This allows wind to easily blow away dust and prevents pollution from accumulating in hard-to-reach grooves.
